On Association Sunday we make a special point of praying for one another. To help us in this a prayer list is prepared. It will stay on the site after 1 March as many of the points to pray for are valid throughout the year and as it shows the nature of the work of the churches in the Association.
This is the prayer list that was sent to churches and supporters for 2010
For Julian Hardyman (Cambridge), Jonathan Stevens (March), David Smith (Over), Paul Adcock (Great Whyte), Nigel Graham (Warboys), Jonathan Wood (Whittlesey), Robert Cordle (Harrold and Cartlton), Stan Evers (Potton), Robert Sanders (Deeping), and Ifor Davies (Irthlingborough). Pray that they will “be shepherds of God’s flock that is under their care” and that the church members will “obey them so that their work will be a joy, not a burden”.
Pray for those churches that are seeking a Pastor (Needingworth and Salem).
Give thanks that each church is very busy with seeking to make the one gospel known using many different opportunities. Pray for all that is done. Some examples to pray for are Eden as they are starting a process to plant a church in or around Cambridge in the near future; for Great Whyte and the series of events that they are holding from March 22 to 24 March as part of Passion For Life; for Warboys as they hold a tea and Easter Guest Service on Sunday 28 March, for Whittlesey’s Holiday Bible Club from 7th to 9th April, and for the many School Assemblies that our Pastors take each term. “God’s word is not chained”
· That they may “live a life worthy of the Lord and may please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God; being strengthened with all power.”
· Pray for those who are suffering ill health – that “God’s power would be made perfect in weakness.”
· Pray for the families from each church - that “God would meet all their needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus.”
Remember the villages, towns and parts of our cities where gospel churches are not found. That the gospel will be taken to these places and that the people would hear.
· Pray for the people in our towns and cities who have come from abroad and are a ‘mission field’ on our own doorsteps.Pray for our GBM missionaries as they make the word of God known in Latvia, Spain, France, East Asia and Colombia and for others from our churches who are serving God overseas at the present time.
